About Dynotone

Dynotone, Inc. was founded to make available to the public, Dr. Charles Butler’s 4th Generation Sine Wave Therapy technology based products. This company is the result of 20 years of researcher experience in the development and delivery of sine wave stimulation based platforms for athletic training, the treatment of musculo-sketetal problems, relaxation and pain management. For the past two decades, Dr Butler has been deeply involved in this medical technology of Northern Europe, and the Baltics. He has advanced the development of these specialized programs for humans. Dynotone now offers Americans a series of programs a generation more advanced than those used with great satisfaction by Professional Athletes, Olympic Athletes and Medical Clinics in Europe. Dr Butler holds the patent rights for the sine wave stimulation therapy known as Physioacoustics--- the most advanced in Europe. He has developed this newest generation of this technology known as Simulated Wave Massage (SWM). This 4th generation SWM technology is the platform of the Dynotone product.

Applications of this technology have been used to address issues of pain management in the areas of sport medicine, supplemental intervention for those with diffuse musculo-skeletal pain from fibromyalgia, greater reduction in pain perception of rheumatoid arthritis suffers, and the prevention of and recovery of muscle injuries and soreness in athletes at all levels of performance. A powerful body of evidence is growing that exposure to sine wave energy in these frequencies may result in increase bone mass and the defeat of Osteoporosis
(cf. Rubin references). Some researchers have suggested that

this technology functioning through Pacinian Corpuscles suppresses pain impulses being transmitted from nerve endings to the brain.

Used by professional athletes beginning in the early 1990’s includes organizations such as the NFL’s San Francisco 49ers and Carolina Panthers, the English Premier League soccer teams such as Manchester United and Derby, and a number of individual world class athletics from differing sports including hockey, tennis, track &field, nordic, freestyle slalom and ski jumping .

The early generations of this technology were based on the use of specialized programs that produced pure sine waves in the frequency range of 20 to 120 Hz. Research showed that the human body responds favorably to sine wave exposure in this range. This

allows practitioners and therapists to create programs to treat defined problems in a purposeful way. The frequencies in this range can be felt at quite precise locations in the body. These sine wave patterns at the very lowest range audible to the human ear create a peasant tactile sensation while bringing about their desired effect.

Earlier generations of the technology had limitations due to resonances, overtones and stimulus fatigue syndrome. Recent innovations by Dr. Butler have resulted in a new 4th generation technology that refines the process of the wave form transmission to the body and tissues. This results in an enjoyable experience for the individual. Healthy individuals feel better. Athletes perform better and suffer fewer injuries. Anxiety, pain and spasticity are mitigated without the side effects common to medication use.

More About Dr. Charles Butler

Dr. Charles Butler worked until his retirement as a cardiac surgeon. For the last 10 years of his practice, he served as Director of Cardiac Surgery at Bronson Methodist Hospital, one of teaching hospitals of Michigan State Medical School. During his surgical career he held academic appointments at Harvard, the Mayo Clinic, the University of Alabama, Louisiana State University, the University of Utah, and Michigan State University.

Dr. Butler also has a Ph.D. in Physiology and Biophysics. Throughout his career he maintained an interest and activity in research. In 1989, he first became interested in the use of sine wave energy to relieve pain, reduce anxiety, improve circulation, enable sleep, release spastic joints, promote bone growth in patients with osteoporosis, reduce high blood pressure, etc. This technology was an outgrowth of many years of research at Upsala University in Sweden and the Sibelius Academy and University of Helsinki in Finland. This technology became established in the Scandinavian Countries, the Baltics, and Great Britain. Treatment with low frequency sine wave energy is reimbursed by the government financed health-care systems in the England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania and Denmark. At the same time it is virtually unknown in the United States. In the early 1990s, Dr. Butler used this technology on patients in the intensive care unit after cardiac surgery. Patients who had access to low frequency sinewavetreatments required less pain medicine. Dr. Butler lectured on this technology at national and regional scientific meetings. It is his goal to bring this noninvasive powerful new medical technology to mainstream status in the United States.

Dr. Butler has written books, chapters for scientific texts, numerous scientific and medical papers. He serves on several Boards of Trustees. His volunteer work includes service with amateur Athletics from local to Olympic level, The Institute for Music and Neurologic Function, and the Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Department.
