Athletic Use
Getting Started

Low Frequency Sine Wave Stimulation has a long history of use by athletes and olympians… more so by countries outside of the USA. At the Lillehammer Olympics, this technology was used in the ski jumping competition. Under Olympic Rules, each athlete competing in this sport has the opportunity to make three competitive jumps. . Each time the athlete tries to jump further than on the previous attempt. Between each jump, each athlete experiences a long stressful fatiguing wait before his next turn. His emotions are on a rollercoaster as others jump and crowds roar! Low frequency sine wave stimulation was employed to induce relaxation after each jump. This prevented fatigue. A warm- up program was used to tune a fresh competitive edge before the next jump. Only three jumpers used this technology. They went on to win the Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medals. These medals stand as testimony either to the effectiveness of the technology or to incredible good luck in choosing athletes!

The Gold Medal winner of the Decathlon in the Sidney Olympics along with the whole Estonian Olympic team trained with sine wave stimulation technology. English Premier League and Champions League soccer teams use this technology. Teams such as Manchester United and Derby employed the technology. These teams have reported a 70% decrease in training and competition injuries when compared to prior years before using these programs. Additionally, athletic trainers reported use of the technology increased players’ flexibility by 17 %.

National Football League teams that have used the technology include beginning in early 1990’s the San Francisco 49ers and in the later 1990’s the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers installed the technology in their training tables. The Athletic Trainer at the Carolina Panthers stated “ it speeds the recovery from injury and the
players really like it “. San Francisco reported that the players responded well to its use, especially the linemen with improved focus and concentration.

Major athletic uses include: warm up before exercise to decrease the incidence of injury, refreshing massage to sooth muscle burn after exercise, and as an adjunct to physical therapy to speed recovery from any injuries suffered. The overall goal is injury prevention and shortened recovery time between exercise or competition. If Dr Rubin’s research is correct, these programs may also increase bone mass and strength when used in conjunction with workouts

SWM equipment available for athletes include a durable vinyl SWM Chair and a Professional Training Table. These are priced to be available to most facilities and should satisfy most needs. The product of choice will depend upon the athlete’s planned circumstances of use.

Dynotone will build custom platforms for the most advanced training use on an individual contract basis.
